There’s something sacred about a calling.
It’s not a career. Not a hustle. Not just a dream.
It’s a divine assignment—a path that God gently, sometimes boldly, calls you to walk.
But let’s be real:
Answering that call takes courage.
Especially when it’s quiet.
Especially when it costs you something.
Especially when no one else sees what you see.
I’ve learned this the hard way. And maybe you have too.
Maybe you've felt that tug in your spirit to finally start writing again, or to speak up, or to launch that creative idea that won’t leave you alone.
But instead of stepping forward, you hesitated.
Because following your calling feels risky.
What if you fail?
What if people laugh?
What if you’re not “good enough”?
Let me remind you of something powerful:
“I… beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God.”
— Ephesians 4:1 (NLT)
You’ve been called by God.
That’s not a small thing. That’s not random.
That’s not something you can keep brushing off or pushing aside until “later.”
Following your calling isn’t about having it all figured out.
It’s about faith.
It’s about obedience.
It’s about saying, “Yes, Lord,” even when your knees are trembling.
Consider Caleb
When Moses sent men to scout out the Promised Land, most of them came back terrified. They saw fortified cities, powerful armies, and giants.
But Caleb?
He saw the same things—and said:
“We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.”
(Numbers 13:30)
That’s courage.
That’s vision.
That’s trust.
Caleb didn’t ignore the danger.
He acknowledged the obstacles, then trusted God to be bigger than them.
We need that kind of faith on our journey, too.
Because let’s face it: the path of purpose is never easy.
There will be fears, doubts, rejections, and setbacks.
But there will also be fruit—abundant, life-giving fruit that flows from your obedience.
